Description

In the past too often the board of directors was spending its precious time organizing IT and IT services in the company. IT Services are used to achieve business objectives; IT Services are an integral part of the company structure and therefore play a crucial role in achieving that goal. It is important that IT Services can fulfill the business needs in a flexible way, however the quality remaining must not be a one-time only achievement, but keep the required standard.

The board of directors must reflect on Corporate Governance of the company, in a best practice approach. With the introduction of the SOX law in the USA, which severely impacted international partners their way of doing business, the Governance model became very much the corner stone of many good business practices. How must the IT Service structure be organized to comply with this new model? IT Governance models such as COBiT find there way into the larger organizations. Guidelines are written for the Board of Directors on how to handle IT. What is there added value in the IT strategy? What are the risks, for which they have to foresee adequate controls?

The goal of this half day interactive workshop, is to show the members of management how IT Service Management and more specifically ITIL® may help them in the above mentioned endeavours.

We cover following aspects, process thinking and working according to ITIL®:

  • Alignment of the IT Services
  • Detect and mitigate Business risks from an IT Service angle perspective
  • Guarantee the continuous quality of IT services
  • Helping your company becoming compliant with IT-Governance and SOXs directives
  • Offering a model to control the costs related to IT Services and an IT department, thus getting "value for money"
  • Thus avoiding time consuming and interrupt driven responses to fairly simple issues relating to IT-Service management

We also provide a management overview of the other ITIL® Processes.

Real life cases are used to build up the session

We go through the minimum requirements that are pre-requisites to start, but we will also emphasis on the pitfalls.

Complementary Information

All our trainers are certified ITIL® V3 Experts. They do not only give training, but still apply on a daily basis their knowledge in real life situations. Therefore the training sessions are "animated" with concrete case studies and lots of practical tips and tricks. As an extra you will view several handy tools which could be used during the implementation in your company.
